Brett- 20 Months!

Well you are now 20 months + 22 days.  Oops again:)  January was a quick, nothing really exciting month.  It was extremely cold.  It got down to -11 one day (not even including wind chill)!  You are a sponge and your vocabulary is bursting.  I had read it is very common from 18 - 24 months.  You are loving "gooks" and will cry when you have to go to bed without the book.  You went to your friend Logan's 4th birthday party.  You had a blast at the party part, Mr. Social Bug.  But, when it came to swimming, you must have forgotten how much fun it was because you hated it.   In your defense, it was rather cold.  We celebrated the new year at a friends house and you slept right through the ball dropping. Mommy went through your room and cleared out all the "baby" items (ie shoes, socks, hats, blankets, etc.) It was a trip down memory lane:)  You got a stomach bug towards the end of the month. Threw up a few times (for the 1st time!) and had diarrhea.  It lasted about a week:(  When people ask how old you are, I now say, "He'll be 2 in May" makes Mommy sad - she is missing her baby but enjoys seeing you grow up at the same time.  

Sleep (same as last month): (Same as 18 months) You are now down to a sippy cup at night before bed. You might drink 1oz, you might drink 5 oz. We lay you down and put a paci in your mouth and one in your hand.  You kind of pass them back and forth and then roll over and fall asleep.  You sleep until 6:30/7am now and it's great!   You are still taking 2 naps a day.  AM is about 1-1 1/2 hours and afternoon is about 1 1/2-2 hours.  Occasionally you will only have a long afternoon nap vs. two. 

Daily Routine :

7:00am Wakes up and Mommy gives you a sippy cup (you call a Ba Ba) in Mommy & Daddy's bed and we watch Sesame Street.  We started brushing our teeth together in the morning.  Mommy puts you in the pack and play while she showers and you are so excited to get out so we can brush our teeth together!  You do a pretty good job but hate when it's "mommy's turn."  

8am- leave to head to babysitter (we get there around 8:20am and we get to spend about 15-20 minutes

together before Mommy has to leave for work, Mommy usually feeds you breakfast - yogurt and a pancake/french toast

8:30am until we pick you up - 2 naps, milk in a sippy, lunch  and lots of playing with Miss Lori.  

4:30pm Daddy picks you up

We come home, you eat and play.  We take a bath, watch a show and you go to bed around 7:30pm. We changed your bedtime to 7:30pm because you were waking up earlier.  It's been helping.  

Feed:  

7:00am- 9 oz Sippy cup whole milk

8:30am- Breakfast  yogurt pancake/waffle; started eating cereal occasionally with a spoon and your yogurt too.  You are getting really coordinated! 

11:30am- lunch (mac & cheese, ravioli, veggie burger, pizza ,deli meat, leftovers with veggie/fruit/cheese)

Afternoon snack sometime (cheese, crackers,  applesauce)

you are drinking about 4-8 oz of milk at Lori's out of a sippy

 5:30/6pm-  eat whatever mom and dad are eating. You love anything with marinara sauce or cheese.  You are being a little more adventurous with dinner and haven't refused too much.  You are enjoying eating things Whole ie Pizza, cheeseburger

7pm- 1-5 oz sippy cup of milk

now: I'm guessing 25 1/2 lbs

birth:  21 inches

now:  Guessing 33 inches

Diaper Size : Size 4; we did move up to size 5 overnight diapers recently. 

Clothes Size:  For the most part, you are wearing 18 month shirts and 12 month pants (some are still really big on you short stuff!). You have been in size 5 shoes since August.  We recently bought a couple new pairs and had to get 6.  No more "soft" sole shoes.  

Hair Color:
You were born with dark (almost black) hair.  Getting blonder every day  (10 haircuts to date) 

Eye color:

At birth: blue/gray

Now:  blue

Fun memories:  Daddy went on a boys trip to his college town one weekend.  Mommy and you had a wonderful weekend.  You definitely missed her because you wanted nothing to do with daddy and you cried when Mommy left.  You started calling for your dad.  You yell DADDY? and it sounds like you are asking where he is.    You also put your hand to your mouth mimicing Cookie Monster and for Ernie, you hame this cute "he he he" laugh.  You now add a smack/smooch to your kisses you blow.  You give kisses on FaceTime with Shar and Papa.  You have been fist bumping and High fives for some time.  

Milestone:  New words- cheese, treat, key, cookie, chair, door, mouse, Kay (Kate), May (Megan).  What Does a ___ Do?  Mouse is hilarious, you make a sniffing noise as you scrunch your nose and Lizard, you stick your tongue out and its adorable!  I quit counting your words but you are in the 70+ range I am sure.  .  You know the following letters- B, R, E, T, Q, O, G, C You can spell your name!!! You are obsessed with the letter B and E.  You point them out everywhere you go and love when we wear shirts that have letters on it.  You have all of your bottom teeth now except the 2 year molars.  I still think you are going to have an extra tooth on top. 

Your favorite toy:  You love your new kitchen and toy food.  You love the light up turtle that shows the moon and stars.  You are starting to ask to play with cars a lot. You are asking to play with your pop up tunnel more.  The basketball goal is a new favorite as well. You stand up on the fireplace hearth and throw it in.
