Brett- 19 months!

Well, you are almost 20 months old and Mommy is just getting to your 19 month post. Oops.  You got another haircut (I feel like a broken record).  We had a wonderful December.  It was so much fun celebrating Christmas with you this year.  You actually opened your own gifts (for the most part when you weren't distracted).  You got a toy kitchen, activity table/train & car table,  Little People car track, Little People ride on car, a BRETT puzzle, puzzles, books, Little People tractor, lion stuffed animal, some Leap Frog toys, play food, and Mr. Potato Head.  I am sure there is more but I can't remember 23 days ago. Ha! You had a play date with Bennett so his mommy and daddy could go on a date (see pics below).  He of course got you sick.  We went to urgent care a few days before Christmas to make sure it wasn't anything big so we could still go to the cabin in Arkansas with Mommy's family.  We had so much fun.  The cabin is across from a pond where we got to feed ducks daily.  You are obsessed with your cousin, Joe.  You woke up early most days at the cabin.  One morning at 4:15am, you were calling for Joe and GG.  It was hilarious, even at 4:15am.  We had your well baby 18 month visit the 1st week of December.  You were perfectly healthy.  Said not to worry about the pacifier until 2 years old. You were a little too early for your last Hep A shot so we will do at your 2 year visit! Just an FYI - it's practically impossible for us to get good pictures of you.  You are constantly on the move and 99% of our pics are blurry:(

 "Loving" on Santa.  It was hilarious because you were excited to be there, waving hi to Santa but when Mommy sat you down, you weren't having it.  Needless to say, we didn't purchase the pictures.

We had an incident where Daddy left his Kool Aid on the placemat (in pic) on the table.  Your little hands were able to reach and it came crashing down on you.  You were shocked.  I made Daddy laugh about it (even though he did put up all place mats immediately) and you got another bath (you had just gotten out of the bath!).

Sleep (same as last month): (Same as 18 months) You are now down to a sippy cup at night before bed. You might drink 1oz, you might drink 5 oz. We lay you down and put a paci in your mouth and one in your hand.  You kind of pass them back and forth and then roll over and fall asleep.  You sleep until 6:30/7am now and it's great!   You are still taking 2 naps a day.  AM is about 1-1 1/2 hours and afternoon is about 1 1/2-2 hours.  Occasionally you will only have a long afternoon nap vs. two. 

Daily Routine :

7:00am Wakes up and Mommy gives you a bottle SIPPY CUP (big news) in Mommy & Daddy's bed and we watch Sesame Street.  We started brushing our teeth together in the morning.  Mommy puts you in the pack and play while she showers and you are so excited to get out so we can brush our teeth together!  You do a pretty good job but hate when it's "mommy's turn."  

8am- leave to head to babysitter (we get there around 8:20am and we get to spend about 15-20 minutes

together before Mommy has to leave for work, Mommy usually feeds you breakfast - yogurt and a pancake/french toast

8:30am until we pick you up - 2 naps, milk in a sippy, lunch  and lots of playing with Miss Lori.  

4:30pm Daddy picks you up

We come home, you eat and play.  We take a bath, watch a show and you go to bed around 8pm

Feed: Your appetitie has slowed down a little because I see 5 teeth making their way in to make a total of 18 when they do come in!

7:00am- Back to Bottles! (am only)  You had a rough morning and Mommy caved.    9 oz Sippy cup

8:30am- Breakfast  yogurt pancake/waffle

11:30am- lunch (mac & cheese, ravioli, veggie burger, pizza ,deli meat, leftovers with veggie/fruit/cheese)

Afternoon snack sometime (cheese, crackers,  applesauce)

you are drinking about 4-8 oz of milk at Lori's out of a sippy

 5:30/6pm-  eat whatever mom and dad are eating. You love anything with marinara sauce or cheese.  You are being a little more adventurous with dinner and haven't refused too much.  You are enjoying eating things Whole ie Pizza, cheeseburger

8pm- 1-5 oz sippy cup of milk

now: 24 lbs 7.5 oz on 12/9; 25 lbs on 12/23

now:  31.95 inches on 12/9 at well visit; 32.22 on 12/23

Clothes Size:  For the most part, you are wearing 18 month shirts and 12 month pants (some are still really big on you short stuff!)

Hair Color:
You were born with dark (almost black) hair.  Getting blonder every day  (6 haircuts to date) 

Eye color:

At birth: blue/gray

Now:  blue

Fun memories:  You are Still  OBSESSED with the moon and stars.   Mommy and you had 2 snow days together!  It was snowy here for about 10 days straight.  You didn't want to play in it, kind of scared of the snow ball Daddy made for you!  You started this new monster walk where you look a little like Frankenstein where you kick your legs straight out in front with your arms at arm height, straight out.  You love your Frosty's from Wendy's.  You also are attempting to blow your nose.  It's adorable!

Milestone:  New words-Joe, GG, Shar, Pop, Papa, door, mouth, eye, nose, and ear.  New noise- Santa Clause (ho ho), and elephant.  It's hilarious, Daddy taught you how to throw your arm up like a trunk of an elephant.  You can point out your hair and head.  At some point I am going to lose track of your words.  You are well over 50 or 60.  You know the following letters- B, R.  We are working on your name!

Your favorite toy:  You love your new kitchen and toy food.  You love the light up turtle that shows the moon and stars.  You are starting to ask to play with cars a lot.  Luckily you got some great toys for Christmas that are cars!
