14 Months- Brett

The month flew by like usual.  You are becoming more of a kid each day.  We say "let's go change your dipey" and you head to your room (with a detour to flush the toilet a few times).  You are mimicking our laughs which kind of sounds like a smart ass.   You had your first non family babysitter while Mommy & Daddy went to a bachelor and bachelorette party.  We celebrated the 4th of July at Grandma and Pop's.  We were in bed by 9:30am and were hoping and praying the neighbor's fireworks weren't going to wake you up! We celebrated Mommy's 33rd birthday.  We went to the local fair, farmers market and Rutledge Wilson Park.  You love baths still but you won't stay on your bottom and it drives Mommy & Daddy crazy.  You are loving Sesame Street (especially Elmo).  It's hilarious when the songs come on, you start dancing.  You are starting to 1-2 of your molars in.  First time in a long time we had to give you medicine for the pain.  We confirmed this month that you have an egg allergy.  We gave you eggs in June and you got some red blotches around the mouth. We thought we would try again.  You love them. However, they don't love you.  You got some small spots behind your years and as you were trying to eat your eggs, you couldn't stop rubbing your eyes.  Mommy had to go to the store to get you Benadryl! You love corn on the cob- especially eating off the cob!

Sleep:  For the last part of July, you have been a GEM!  We give you your last bottle (approx 5 oz) around 8pm. We lay you down and put a paci in your mouth and one in your hand.  You kind of pass them back and forth and then roll over and fall asleep.  You sleep until 7am now and it's great!  Crossing fingers it stays that way!  You are still taking 2 naps a day.  AM is about 1-1 1/2 hours and afternoon is about 1 1/2-2 hours.  

Daily Routine:

7:00am Wakes up and Mommy gives you a bottle in Mommy & Daddy's bed and we watch Sesame Street 

8am- leave to head to babysitter (we get there around 8:20am and we get to spend about 15-20 minutes

together before Mommy has to leave for work, Mommy usually feeds you breakfast - yogurt and a pancake/french toast

8:30am until we pick you up - 2 naps, milk in a sippy, lunch  and lots of playing with Miss Lori

4:30pm Daddy picks you up

We come home, you eat, play, go for walks, swing, etc.  We take a bath, read a book and you go to bed around 8pm

Feed:

7:30am- 8 oz bottle

8:30am- Breakfast  yogurt bagel/pancake/waffle

11:30am- lunch (mac & cheese, ravioli, veggie burger, deli meat, leftovers with veggie/fruit/cheese)

Afternoon snack sometime (cheese, crackers, puffs, applesauce)

We cut out bottles during the day but you are drinking about 4-8 oz of milk at Lori's out of a sippy

 5:30/6pm-  eat whatever mom and dad are eating. You love anything with marinara sauce.

8pm- 5 oz bottle

You are eating some fruits now- peaches, pineapple, blueberries, and watermelon.

now: guessing 23 lbs

birth:  21 inches

now:  guessing 29 3/4 inches

Diaper Size : You are still in size 3  We are still using Luvs.  I can't believe you have been in size 3 since October of last year!

Clothes Size:  9-12 month clothing; 12 month pants are still long on you- we have to roll them

Hair Color:
You were born with dark (almost black) hair.  Getting blonder every day  (5 haircuts to date) Mommy wants to grow your hair out for the summer

Eye color:

At birth: blue/gray

Now:  blue

Funniest or Favorite moment:  When you run up and give Mommy and Daddy hugs.  Cutest thing ever!  (okay, when you hug and pat your stuffed animals it's pretty cute too!)

Milestone: walking!  You are about 100% now walking vs crawling.  You are saying the following words:  Star, Ball, Balloon, Dog, No (Lord help us!), Ba Ba (bottle), Ut (ut oh), bird, bubble.    You are waving all.the.time.  You now say Hi and Bye with the waves.  

Your favorite toy: remotes, balloons, Little People Farm, Mega Blocks, boxes, books, and puzzles.  We got a collapsable tunnel this month that you like a lot!
