13 Months- Brett (oops- forgot to hit publish!)

It's really hard for me to refer to you as a toddler. I think I will always call you my baby.  This month flew by for sure.  We had a fun trip to St. Louis. We went with a friend, Natasha and her May baby, Adelaide.  We went to the zoo.  You did awesome and loved looking at everything. You even took a nice nap in the stroller.  It made up for the rough night you had the first night in the hotel.  Boy, that wasn't fun trying to get you to sleep:(  You are saying more words and its so cute!  Right now you really like the "B" words (see Milestones below).  You had a little tummy bug at the beginning of the month so we had to back off the cows milk and go on a BRAT diet for 4 days and you were back to yourself quickly (you really didn't seem bothered, just having major blowouts:)).  We celebrated Daddy's birthday and Father's Day.

Sleep:  At 12 months, it was operation get you to sleep through the night.  We are 98% there.  For about 3 nights, when you would wake up, Mommy would send Daddy in your room to console you.  No more nursing you back to sleep.  We gave you a bottle with water.  It was rough but it didn't last long.  You go to bed around 8ish and wake up anywhere from 6am- 7:30am.  If you wake up before 6:15am, we check your diaper (50% of the time it's poopy:() and then put you back in your crib with your paci and a book.    You still take 2 naps a day. Morning is about an hour, Afternoon is about 2 hours.

Daily Routine:

6:15/7:30am- Wakes up and Mommy gives you a bottle in Mommy & Daddy's bed and we watch Sesame Street

8am- leave to head to babysitter (we get there around 8:20am and we get to spend about 15-20 minutes

together before Mommy has to leave for work, Mommy usually feeds you breakfast - yogurt and a pancake/french toast

8:30am until we pick you up - 2 naps, milk in a sippy, lunch lots of playing with Miss Lori

4:30pm Daddy picks you up

We come home, you eat, play, go for walks, swing, etc.  We take a bath, read a book and you go to bed around 8pm

Feed:

7:30am- 8 oz bottle

8:30am- Breakfast  yogurt bagel/pancake/waffle

11:30am- lunch (mac & cheese, ravioli, veggie burger, deli meat, leftovers with veggie/fruit/cheese)

Afternoon snack sometime (cheese, crackers, puffs, applesauce)

We cut out bottles during the day but you are drinking about 4-8 oz of milk at Lori's

5:30/6pm-  eat whatever mom and dad are eating (Baby Led Weaning. ) You love anything with marinara sauce.

8pm- 5 oz bottle

Still don't love fruits- it has to be a texture thing.  You will eat pouches of fruit and now pineapple tidbits

Weight:

birth:  8 lbs 9 oz

now: guessing 22 lbs - graduated to a convertible car seat!

Length:

birth:  21 inches

now:  guessing 29 inches

Diaper Size : You are still in size 3  We are still using Luvs.  We had to go out and get you overnight diapers as you were starting to soak through.

Clothes Size:  9-12 month clothing; 12 month pants are still long on you- we have to roll them

Hair Color:
You were born with dark (almost black) hair.  Getting blonder every day  (5 haircuts to date) Mommy wants to grow your hair out for the summer

Eye color:

At birth: blue/gray

Now:  blue

Funniest or Favorite moment:  I think you taking your first steps and watching you try to conquer the movement.  You also like to mimic our "No No No" to you.  You know when you go somewhere you aren't supposed to go; you wave your pointer finger and say "no no no."

Milestone: walking!  You are about 98% now walking vs crawling.  You are saying the following words:  Star, Ball, Balloon, Dog, No (Lord help us!), Ba Ba (bottle), Ut (ut oh), bird.  We think you are saying cow, boat, and truck but not sure.

Your favorite toy: remotes, balloons, Little People Farm, Mega Blocks and puzzles

Firsts:

First time walking
First trip to zoo
First trip to St. Louis

(mommy can't remember everything- anything-  forgive her!!)
